This model's creation was originally expected to be a collaboration between the family of the TintTin creator and Omega in celebration of the cartoon and comic strip. The original TinTin rocket dial never made it to production other than a prototype as the family did not want to proceed.

Omega then decided to produce this special moon watch with a racing dial minus the TinTin rocket.
