敘　　述：

勞力士在1926年製造出了世界第一只防水錶後,對潛水錶方面的開發,也一直不遺餘力。1971年勞力士開發出具備排氦氣閥,並防水610公尺(2000英呎)的Sea-Dweller。1980年起,Sea-Dweller改為1220公尺防水。現在這只配備了藍寶石水晶鏡片,具瑞士官方天文台認證的自動上鍊機芯,且具日期顯示視窗。它的排氦氣閥置於左側,當錶殼內氣壓力大於外側時,會自動將閥門頂開,而排出氣體,同時又能保持防水性。

Throughout the production of the Sea Dweller 16600 three different lume materials and letterings at the bottom of the dial were used. The earliest having Tritium and marked SWISS T<25. In 1998 Rolex made the transition to Luminova and changed the dial lettering from SWISS T<25 to SWISS. In late 1999 they moved on to Super Luminova and changed the lettering to SWISS MADE.

Two bezel inserts were used, one having a flat 4 at the 40 mark which can be found up until the Y series in 2003. Rolex then switched over to the pointed 4.
